Range of Co-Curricular

Getting Involved

A range of leadership and co-curricular activities aim to encourage students to become involved in the wider life of the school, and to extend students wherever possible. They provide different learning experiences; they help develop strong relationships between students and with staff; and they contribute towards school pride and an enjoyment of school.

Leadership

Citizenship
Junior students can join the Citizenship Programme by becoming a Librarian, sound technician, sports monitor, science technician, Bookroom helper, Student Centre canteen worker, a member of the Archive Group, or help produce the Junior Magazine.

Senior School
Opportunities include joining the Enviro Group, Sports Council, Formal Committee or Student Centre staff, becoming a House Leader, Peer Support Leader, Student Leader, Board of Trustees Representative, or Head or Deputy Head Boy and Girl.

Co-Curricular Activities

Performing Arts

Linwood has a national reputation as a performing arts school. Based on rich tradition, large and small scale productions featuring music, drama and dance offer students a wide variety of opportunities. High calibre staff encourage students to reach a very high standard of performance. Theatre Arts, Dance and Music may be taken as curriculum subjects from Year 9 through to Year 13, or as co-curricular activities.
